2024 Soirée a Smashing Success!

Mini Van Donated to Reach Out Morongo Basin

The goal for the Dessert Soiree was to raise $25,000 to purchase a reliable used van for Reach Out Morongo Basin.  This valuable nonprofit needed another van to transport their growing number clients to doctors’ appointments, grocery stores, etc.  Sunset Rotary President John Babrowski stated, “Our thanks go to Bob Tenbrook of Yucca Auto Body who was instrumental in finding and negotiating the best value for the van. A big thank you to the sponsors and the generosity of the community. We exceeded that goal by over $3,000.00.” Additionally, Babrowski stated,   “We are putting the extra funds to good use by allocating $2500.00 to the Boys and Girls Club for physical improvements that the Sunset Rotary Club will oversee in the fall. The rest of the funds will go towards the Miss Yucca Valley Scholarship Pageant that will be held on February 5th 2025”.

The next Dessert Soirée is April 5, 2025.  See you there!

Soriee earmarks an additional $2,500 to  Boys & Girls Club

Rotarian Tom toured with B&G  director Mikayla.  Tom determined that we address the following to the best of our ability with the $2.500. Bathroom counter in both bathrooms need repair. Repair stairs by tightening screws, Light bulbs in the club and some repairs in the kitchen. We could get Behr paint at discount of 30% or Tom might be able to get the paint donated. Our club is looking for a painter that is willing to discount their services or donate their time.
