Suzanna Barnett proudly presents a certificate of appreciation to President John Montgomery and the dedicated members of the Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary Club. This recognition honors their unwavering commitment to community service and the positive impact they have made. Thank you for your hard work and dedication!

The primary beneficiary of this event will be Unity Home, an amazing community resource helping domestic violence victims, survivors, and their children since 1982. Unity's home mission statement "is to provide a safe haven for victims of domestic violence, to educate and assist them through counseling, legal advocacy, and building their self esteem as to allow them to live their life free from the fear of abuse."

The goal of the Dessert Soiree is to raise at least $25,000 to purchase a low mileage minivan which will greatly assist their support efforts for those individuals and families needing assistance during a time of crisis and change. This nonprofit 501(c)(3) plays a pivotal role in empowering victims to become survivors as well as affording them the opportunity through counseling and many other programs to move on to a life free from the fear of abuse. All assistance is provided at no cost to Unity Home’s clients, and Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary is honored to have them as this year’s Dessert Soiree recipient.

Generosity Of The Community Makes
The Dessert Soiree a Monumental Success!

Unity Home received a much-needed van, thanks to the incredible generosity of the community that made the 21st Soirée the most successful event in its 21-year history. The event was filled with laughter, fun, and excitement. Attendees from across the Morongo Basin savored delicious handmade desserts crafted by Rotarian baker Vickie Bridenstine and her team.

Miss Yucca Valley and court assisted with the Gift Card Mania and live auction, where auctioneer Glen Harris entertained the crowd auctioning off fantastic prizes, including a Holland America Cruise, unique artworks, murder mystery experiences, a meat smoker package, golf experiences and delightful cakes.

Event Coordinator Donna Davies announced that the Soirée made just shy of $40,000.00. That is an increase of over 30% from last year’s fun-raising effort. Donna said that their goal was to upgrade the auction items to more experiences with a mixture of quality items for the home. The Deal or No Deal case prizes were also upgraded.

Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary allocated $2,000.00 to the Miss Yucca Valley Scholarship pagent, and $3,000.00 to repair the stage used for Rotary events.
