Dessert Soiree a Huge Success!
Approximately 100 people attended the 18th annual Dessert Soiree on April 2nd. The success of the event is because of the generosity of the business community and attendees! Together, we raised over 17,000.00!
The deserts were sweet and tasty! The night flew by ending with the Deal or No Deal game. participation was a huge sucess, even though the $1000.00 case was opened on the third round. Good prizes, kept the crowd involved and engaged.
Who is Rotary??
Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary mainly supports our local community and to some degree beyond.
What Rotary Does
Rotary International has seven areas of focus.
Growing local economies.
Providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene.
Saving mothers and children.
Locally we are here for the community
Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary provides its members a method of giving back to our community in a bigger way than we could do individually. We strongly support local education, child development, family protection, military families, and much more.
Our Signature fundraising events include the Dessert Soirée, The Farewell to Summer festival at Homestead park, and The Morongo Basin Orchid Festival.
YV Sunset Rotary supports youth leadership programs for Junior high and High school students. Provide scholarships to the most improved high school seniors, giving them a second chance. Giving Holiday baskets to marine families. Internationally, we support the eradication of Polio. We have an international disaster fund to help communities struck by disaster, such as an earthquake, typhoon, or fire.
If you would like to be a part of our club, please feel free to join us on Thursday.
The 25th Morongo Basin Orchid Festival raised over $40,000.00 for local Non profits.
Joshua Tree Brewery, Gubler Orchids and Sunset Rotary worked tirelessly to raise over $40,000.00 for first time in the 25 year history of the Orchid Festival. Chair person Kelsey Gubler said, "The turn out was beyond our expectations. Festival goers were very generous in supporting this event." She went on to say "Everyone did their part to make this the smoothest running event ever!"
