Sunset Rotary Keeps The Sprit Alive!
Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary is now organizing the Festival of Lights Parade to be held on December 3rd. Sunset President Tami Montgomery says "We are very excited to take over this event and to improve on this Yucca Valley tradition." The Parade will begin at 5:30 on Santa Fe Trail between Deer Tr. and Inca Tr. After the parade children will have the opportunity to meet Santa and enjoy all the colorful lights the parade will offer.
We are seeking nonprofits and businesses to participate in the parade. It is a wonderful way to show your support of the community and promote your organization. Awards will be given to best lights, most spirit, and most humorist. Applications are available online - click here, or at the Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce office. You can contact Rotarian Sue Tsuda at 760-898-1047 for more details.
Who is Rotary??
Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary mainly supports our local community and to some degree beyond.
What Rotary Does
Rotary International has seven areas of focus.
Growing local economies.
Providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene.
Saving mothers and children.
Locally we are here for the community
Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary provides its members a method of giving back to our community in a bigger way than we could do individually. We strongly support local education, child development, family protection, military families, and much more.
Our Signature fundraising events include the Dessert Soirée, The Farewell to Summer festival at Homestead park, and The Morongo Basin Orchid Festival.
YV Sunset Rotary supports youth leadership programs for Junior high and High school students. Provide scholarships to the most improved high school seniors, giving them a second chance. Giving Holiday baskets to marine families. Internationally, we support the eradication of Polio. We have an international disaster fund to help communities struck by disaster, such as an earthquake, typhoon, or fire.
If you would like to be a part of our club, please feel free to join us on Thursday.
