Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary Club

Yucca Valley, CA 92284

Preparing to deliver Christmas food boxes in outlying areas
Our club actively participates in many charitable projects.  While we may be best known for raising money and donating that money to local charities -- The Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Desert, Joshua Tree Kids Club, Morongo Basin Coalition for Adult Literacy, Landers Elementary After-School Programs, Service to American Rotarians, Homestead Valley Park, Yucca Valley Park and Recreation Department Scholarships, a Yucca Valley High School $1000 Scholarship, Rotary Youth Leadership Academy Scholarships, Morongo Basin Mental Health Services, Joshua Tree Tortoise Rescue, Theatre 29, and MORE, we also put in plenty of elbow grease when it comes to supporting local needs.

We purchase and deliver dictionaries to third-graders in the Morongo Basin (all 4 local Rotary clubs participate to ensure to child is left out).

We purchase, assemble, and personally deliver boxes of Christmas dinner food to the outlying areas in Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree and Landers just a few days before Christmas.

We orchestrate, obtain funding for, and operate the entire FREE fireworks display and honoring of our nation's birthday at Homestead Valley Park -- with no financial support from any municipality or government entity.

We provide leaders and scholarships for the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy -- this year we are sending FOUR local students to this fantastic three-day camp.

And this year we are locating, purchasing, and delivering vending machines to Morongo Basin Mental Health to allow them to have a continuing source of revenue to support their many services to the Morongo Basin community. (See our Events! page about the Dessert Soiree for more information and to participate.)
