Wine & Cheese Tasting Raises Funds for Charities
Our Rotary club's primary fundraising event has been the Morongo Basin Orchid Festival, which is now in its sixteenth year. Through this event we have raised and distributed tens of thousands of dollars to local charities and schools -- providing a positive and significant impact on our local communities. For the past several years the Festival made and distributed over $12,000 (distributing 100% of the proceeds) and local charities also received additional donations at their booths.
This year the event runs for two days, Saturday and Sunday, October 1st and 2nd. As is true every year, the Festival is centered around Gubler Orchids in Landers, California. The Festival offers free behind the scenes tours that are not otherwise available to the public, both free and fee-based orchid classes, many rare orchids for sale, vendors selling unique items, and -- of course-- a FREE live band, great food and drink for all ages -- including the wine and cheese tasting AND great food, and much, much more for the entire family!
